Information & Media Literacy

Nano & MicroLearning

Microlearning is incremental learning with digital resources. Nanolearning is the use of quick bite-sized information (such as quick posts or videos used on social media). In this course presentation, we will take a closer look at three different types of social media platform (Instagram, LinkedIn Learning, and Twitter) and how companies and individuals apply principles of micro, nano, social, and incremental learning.

Learning Management Systems

In this presentation, we will take a closer look at four different types of learning management systems (Captivate, Articulate, Canvas, Google Classroom). One of the biggest determining factors in deciding on an LMS is researching learner demographics (learner analysis) in order to ensure online learning goals are met.

Video Instruction

Information and media can take many forms. Just-in-time videos and storytelling are a few of the eLearning tools available to Instructional Designers.

See video for In-Course Correction for Crisis Management for analyzing potential educational leadership issues. This video includes a scenario, examination of Chickering & Gamson's 7 principles, and ethical considerations in addition to an explanation of the content and target audience.

WEB 3.0 & AI

The Internet has undergone a remarkable evolution since its inception, from the early days of Web 1.0's static web pages to the interactive and dynamic Web 2.0. Now, we stand on the cusp of another revolutionary transformation, one that promises to redefine the way we interact with technology, culture, and each other: Web 3.0. This next phase of the internet is characterized by the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into every aspect of our online experience. This development holds the potential to bring about paradigm shifts in our culture and communication, ultimately shaping the future of our societies.
